New Parent Postcards and Poster

Introduction

A resource co-created within Hartlepool designed to support new parents with activities to do with their child to support their development at different stages through 0-5 years of age. It primarily focusses on physical development but also encompasses other areas such as communication, language and literacy to support parents.

There are 7 postcards, purposely designed without ages on and just stages as our insight suggested that parents feel pressure when ages are attached to milestones if their child isn't achieving it.

The attached handout explains the aim of the project, how the postcards are set up and how we envisage them being shared within the health and education systems and community.

Each postcard and the poster has a QR code which gives an option of either Redcar & Cleveland, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton or Darlington. Once an area has been selected, there is the option to select a child's stage which then leads onto a video to show the postcard statements in action and external local and national links to further parents understanding around their child's physical development and what's happening in their local area that they can link up with.

The postcards and posters can be shared with anyone but are only for use within the Tees Valley.
