Introduction
Thought this might be useful to share from the Active Partnership Hub as another tool for gathering insight.
Sport England have released a new mapping tool showing activity levels at MSOA and LSOA levels throughout the country.
The tool has been developed by Substance, a research and tech company, and gives a new look at adults and children/young people who are active, inactive and participating in sport twice a week. It uses data from the 2021/22 datasets.
The data also presents demographic information through the small areas tool, offering a more detailed insight into the estimated physical activity levels in our communities.
You can access the interactive tool here: Active Lives Small Area Estimates Tool
You'll be able to:
- Access the mapping tool to run your own queries, including overlaying some census data with physical activity data
- Download the raw data tables
- Download a user guide
- Download the FAQs document
This is the first edition of physical activity estimates using a new methodology for small areas and work has already begun on the 2022/23 Active Lives datasets. The tool will be updated once this work has been completed.
