Introduction
Step-by-Step Guide to Embedding a Video in the Learning Bank
1. Understand Embedding
Embedding means integrating a video directly onto a platform so that it can be watched there, rather than just linking to where the video is hosted (like YouTube).
2. Locate the Share Option
Find and click the "Share" button beneath the video you wish to embed. This is a common feature on most video hosting platforms, such as YouTube.
3. Choose to embed
After clicking "Share", look for an "Embed" option and select it. This action will display some HTML code, which is the embed code for the video.
4. Copy the Embed Code
Click the "Copy" button to copy the embed code to your clipboard. There's no need to understand the code; you just need to copy it.
5. Access the Content Box on Your Platform
Navigate to where you want to embed the video on your platform. If there's a content editor, you might need to switch it to "Source" or "HTML" mode to input HTML codes.
6. Paste the Embed Code
Paste the previously copied embed code into the source or HTML area of your content box. This might look a bit technical, but you're simply pasting what you copied earlier.
7. Wait for the Embed to Process
After pasting the code, give it a moment to process. The video should appear embedded in the content area, allowing it to be played directly on the platform.
8. Finalise and Test
Ensure everything is saved correctly and test the embedded video to ensure it plays as expected.
