Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan

Introduction

The Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan has been created as part of the requirements of the Level 3 Code for Sports Governance. The Plan outlines our approach and intentions to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion. It serves as a roadmap for fostering a more inclusive environment and addressing underrepresentation in various demographics.  The plan includes four objectives as follows;

·       Recruitment – we will ensure that no job applicants are unlawfully discriminated against because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief (including lack of belief), sex and sexual orientation (known as the protected characteristics).

 ·       Training – we will support our workforce to adapt and demonstrate their commitment to the principles and practices of equality, diversity and inclusion through the provision of training to raise awareness and understanding.

 ·       Insight and Advocacy - we will continually develop our understanding of the diverse needs of different communities and partners within Tees Valley and positive action will be used to redress inequalities, discrimination and to maximise participation

·       Policies and procedures – we will ensure that the appropriate governance and policy is in place to promote and embed equality, diversity and inclusion

The final version will be submitted to Sport England at the end of March so please have a look through the document and specifically the actions I have attributed to your job role and let me know your thoughts.
